02 Nov, 2014
Singapore, Singapore - The Arts House, Play Den
Through the power of their words, writers can lend voice to victims who cannot speak for themselves. Mukesh Kapila, the former head of the UN mission in Sudan, discusses his work in Darfur and how he confronted global indifference and venality. Human rights activist Loung Ung speaks about her involvement in Girl Rising, the global movement to break the cycle of poverty through education for girls. The film ‘Girl Rising’ will be shown prior to the panel discussion.
